US chief negotiator on the DPRK financial issue, Daniel Glaser has arrived in Beijing for talks. Glaser says he remains positive about the forthcoming talks.
Glaser said, "I'm looking forward to some productive meetings picking up where we left off. The meetings should start on Tuesday afternoon. So, I'll be seeing all of you, thanks a lot."
The financial sanctions imposed on the DPRK are one of the key stumbling blocks stalling the six-party talks. The resumption of the six-party talks on DPRK's nuclear issue is expected to be held early next month. But the exact timetable has not been confirmed yet. During the talks later last year, Glaser and President of the DPRK's Foreign Trade Bank, Kwang Chol held the first DPRK-U.S. consultations on the financial sanctions.
Earlier this week, six-party chief negotiators from the US, the DPRK, South Korea and Japan came to Beijing and met individually with their Chinese counterpart, Wu Dawei.
