First batch of Chinese troops starts training for anti-terror drill

The nine-day-drill, which begins next Thursday, involves 6,000 military personnel.

The PLA has held 17 joint exercises with foreign troops in the past five years.

The Army considers this a sign of its increasing foreign exchanges and enhancing its capabilities to deal with non-traditional threats like terrorism.
