U.S. soldiers serving in Afghanistan held a 9-11 memorial service to pay respects to the victims of the terrorist attacks.

Troops stationed at Bagram air base held a moment of silence at 5:16 p.m. Afghan-time the time the first jetliner hit the World Trade Center. The victims were honored with a 21-gun salute.

U.S.-led forces have been searching for the 9/11 mastermind-Osama bin Laden-since they toppled the Taliban government in Afghanistan. U.S. officials believe the world's most wanted man is hiding in somewhere in the Pakistani-Afghan border region.
