US nuclear experts stop over in Beijing

A working group of US experts has stopped over in Beijing en route to the DPRK where they will carry out work related to disabling the country's nuclear facilities.

The team, led by Sung Kim, director of the US State Department's Office of Korea Affairs, is scheduled to arrive in Pyongyang on Thursday. They will work on creating a plan for future teams to begin disabling the Yongbyon nuclear reactor.

The US State Department says the US experts will stay in the DPRK for about a week before another team takes over.
