Senior CPC official visits Pyongyang

Senior CPC official Liu Yunshan has met with the leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

On behalf of President Hu Jintao, Liu Yunshan delivered a letter to Kim Jong-il on Tuesday, which says the Chinese government and the new CPC leadership will continue to work with the DPRK closely. It recommends the two sides implement a consensus for stability and common prosperity in the region.

Kim Jong-il expressed his appreciation to Hu Jintao's letter, and extended his congratulations to Hu on being re-elected as the CPC's top leader. Kim said his government will strengthen communications and its relations with China.
