Feng Zhongping, research fellow of China Inst. of Contemp. Int'l Relations, said, "France will continue its foreign policy towards China, even though a new President has taken office. The current sound French-China relationship is connected with Chirac's profound sentiments towards China. President Sarkozy is likely to follow in his predecessor's footsteps and go on advancing the all-round strategic partnership between France and China."
