President Hu calls for efforts to promote modernization of army

Hu Jintao also inspected the training of a troop in Beijing. He urged soldiers to make it their mission to contribute to the nation and the people, as part of the core value of the modern soldiers.

The president also urged the army to step up to a new stage of military building and national defense, pushing forward the modernization and quality of development, as the country begins to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
