FM: China´s diplomacy made impressive success in 2008

Yang noted that 2009 is equally challenging for China's diplomacy.

Yang Jiechi said "The international situation is undergoing the most profound and complex changes since the end of the Cold War. The international financial crisis has not yet hit the bottom. And China's external environment has become more complicated."

Yang Jiechi said that China's diplomacy this year should focus on one overarching objective to make every effort to ensure steady and rapid economic development in China. At the same time, Chinese diplomats will strive to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as advance security diplomacy and cultural diplomacy.
