Roadmen work against time
WATCH VIDEO
The provincial reconstruction plan calls for the road to resume two-way traffic on May 12th. That's why the crew, managers, included, have to work overtime.
Du- Wen Road Project manager Yang Yong said, "We are racing against time. It's a non-stop operation around the clock. They are really working hard. Some haven't rested for 40 hours."
Racing against time isn't the only challenge. Sometimes the workers risk their lives when working between the torrential Minjiang River and the steep mountains.
Working in such a place is much more dangerous than it appears stones may fall down from the mountains some workers are injured."
Night falls. Lao Hu continues with his night shift, accompanied by a symphony of machines, the roaring water, and the truck horns. And everyone hopes the end of overtime is just a few days away.
