Religion can be something serious, or it can be something relaxed and joyful.

In a small village outside Bangkok, there's a celebration for three boys who are about to enter monkhood.

There are no VIPs attending, no delicious food or drinks will be served. But relatives and friends nevertheless dance happily and enjoy the party atmosphere.

Thai people believe if a boy becomes a monk, it's a merit for his parents as well as a way to show gratitude. They also feel that becoming a monk will bring good luck not only to the boy, but to all his friends and family.
