Suicide bombers have attacked an army bus and a commercial district in Rawalpindi near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. The two bombings killed at least 24 people and injured 66 others.

The first bomb exploded on a bus on Tuesday morning, as it traveled through a high-security area in Rawalpindi, a garrison city south of Islamabad and the headquarters of the army.

As ambulances drove away the victims, a second bomb went off in a nearby commercial district, killing several more.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the two bombs.
