With the dramatic rise of personal income, people paid more attention to the brands than to the prices and style as before while choosing clothes. In 1998 there was a saying on a fashion magizine, the main idea was it was no wonder if you saw a women in Beijing or Shanghai dressed with the lastest fashion style which had been just released in Milan or Paris the day before.

2001-2008: Individuality

Entering the 21st century, Chinese people are gradually prone to seek the individuality among adequate dressing choices, so dressing plays more roles in the embodiment of one´s personality than keeping warm. Meanwhile, with the continuous deepening of reform and opening up policy, Chinese elements are more and more frequently seen in the world fashion circle, and Chinese garments also win worldwide acceptance and respect.
