[Impressive moment] Her desire to live and her dream of dancing helped her endure 70 hours under the ruins. On the morning of May 15, doctors had to amputate her left leg to help her out of the ruins and save her life.
[Post-quake life] Li Yue, dressed in a tutu, was the lead ballerina. She looked up into the sky and danced for her dream, for the villagers in Beichuan County, for classmates who had passed away and for all the people in the quake-hit area...
[Impressive moment] Upon being pulled out of the rubble 80 hours after the quake, Xue Xiao said,"I want Coca Cola", which amused Chinese people.
[Post-quake life] Xue had his right arm sawed off the second day after he was sent to hospital, but was otherwise in stable condition."I will learn to use my left hand well. I still want to realize my dream of going to college."
[Impressive moment] Lang Zheng, was rescued from the debris after the May 12 Wenchuan earthquake. After being put on a stretcher, the injured and fragile boy slowly raised his right hand and saluted his rescuers in gratitude...
[Post-quake life] Lang leaves Tangdu Hospital after two months of treatment, in Xi´an, July 27, 2008. His fractured left arm and partly amputated left fingers have been recovering well.
[Impressive moment] Liao Bo, a senior high school student, was found and saved from the slit of the destroyed school building,lost his left leg in the quake.
[Post-quake life] Liao, a senior high school student who was now on a wheelchair, came all the way from a rehab center in Beijing to pay tribute to the dead.
Lin Hao, then nine, of Yingxiu Township, Wenchuan County, pulled two classmates from the rubble. As a result, he was honored as a "heroic child" in quake rescue and relief.
Zhao Ran is a high school student orphaned in the Sichuan quake. She is now studying at a university in Beijing.
Many of the children are sensitive and anxious after the devastating earthquake. Their trip to Beijing is designed to rebuild their confidence and build a positive attitude toward life.
